WATERPROOF TYPE ELECTRIC CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof type electric connector capable of keeping an excellent waterproof property regardless of presence/absence of a cutout of an opening part of a mating connector.

SOLUTION: This waterproof type electric connector 10 for electrically connecting wires to the mating connector with a reception recessed part formed therein characteristically includes: contacts 15 each connected to one end of the wire; an insulation housing 11 having a fitting part 11a fitted to the reception recessed part of the mating connector with the contacts 15 housed therein; a seal member 12 arranged integrally with a peripheral surface 111d in the vicinity of a tip 111c of the fitting part 11a, and tightly fitted to the inside wall of the reception recessed part when the fitting part 11a is inserted into the reception recessed part; and a lock member 14 for preventing coming-off of the insulation housing 11 when the fitting part 11a is inserted into the reception recessed part up to a predetermined position.
