<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of fall determination in a fall detector and to downsize the detector. <P>SOLUTION: The fall detector comprises: a storage means for storing automatic fall determining value for determining automatic fall during the fall, a determining time interval to be a time interval until an acceleration component signal for determining whether it is fall is acquired again, and an angle difference determining value for determining that it is an automatic fall; a means for acquiring a first acceleration component signal of each axis from a three-axis acceleration sensor; a means for composing the signals to operate an amount of a first composed vector; a means for acquiring a second acceleration component signal of each axis after a determination time interval has passed when the amount of the first composed vector is equal to the automatic fall determining value or larger; a means for composing the signals to operate an amount of second composed vector; and a means for determining that automatic fall is happening when at least one of angle differences between a first angle and a second angle on each examination surface operated from first and second acceleration component signals on each axis is larger than the angle difference determining value when the second composed vector is equal to the automatic fall determining value or larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
