<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic waste liquid treatment apparatus equipped with a sludge modification means using ozone gas which prevents problems such as clogging and damage of heat exchangers installed in the apparatus for cooling an ozone generator due to an inflow of solid matter such as univalve shells living in a storage tank of treated waste liquid, and sand when the treated waste liquid is used as a cooling medium for the heat exchangers. <P>SOLUTION: In the organic waste liquid treatment apparatus where an organic waste liquid is biologically treated, the biologically treated liquid is solid-liquid separated, at least a part of the separated liquid is discharged outside a system, and concentrated sludge separated from a solid-liquid separation means 2 and/or sludge extracted from a biological treatment tank 1 are brought into contact with ozone gas to be modified, the heat exchangers 34A, 34B for cooling the ozone generator 32 are installed, and the liquid separated by the solid-liquid separation means 2 is used as the cooling medium to cool the ozone generator 32 by the heat exchangers 34A, 34B.
