PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular lighting device capable of surely continuing lighting of a headlight lamp even in a small displacement vehicle. SOLUTION: In normal travelling of a vehicle, a HID lamp 18 is lighted by a HID ballast 15. In idling operation of the vehicle, input voltage of the HID ballast 15 is lowered. Lowering of the input voltage is detected by a control circuit inside the HID ballast 15. In this case, the control circuit stops output of the HID ballast 15 to extinguish the HID lamp 18, and while turns on a switch RS of a relay 21 to supply the alternating current voltage from an alternating current generator 11 to an auxiliary lamp 20. With this structure, in the idling operation, the auxiliary lamp 20 is lighted in place of the HID lamp 18. Even in the case wherein output of the alternating current generator 11 is reduced, lighting of the headlight lamp can be surely maintained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
