The mouth care-device has a dental care unit with a mouthpiece (4) comprising a cross channel (39) provided with a cleaning gas under pressure. The mouthpiece has a distributor channel (38) that is connected with the cross channel. The distributor channel connects the cross channel with a storage container and a gas container for the cleaning gas. The storage container is accommodated in a housing. The housing is separated from the dental care unit. The housing has two container parts that are detachably connected with each other. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a mouthpiece of a mouth hygiene device.
