PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a scandium-containing alloy by which contamination by a crucible material and a reducing agent is suppressed and a high purity X-Sc-Z alloy can be obtained in a simple and easy way, and to provide a scandium-containing alloy obtained by the method. SOLUTION: The method for producing a scandium-containing alloy includes bringing vapor of a metal reducing agent (Z) 24 into contact with molten raw material 22 comprising a scandium-containing compound and one or more metals X selected from Al, Mg, Cu and Ag, whereby heat-reducing the scandium-containing compound to obtain an X-Sc-Z alloy.
