PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of exchanging coal-cutting devices by which the exchange of the coal-cutting devices forming the main part of a coal tower can be finished in a short time. SOLUTION: The method of exchanging the coal-cutting devices of the coal tower carries out the following the first to fourth steps in order: (1) the first step for attaching a flange 21 for fixing the coal-cutting device to a base part for attaching the coal-cutting device 14 to be exchanged to the coal tower; (2) the second step for cutting off the coal-cutting device to be exchanged while leaving the flange for fixing the coal-cutting device; (3) the third step for preparing the coal-cutting device for exchange; and (4) the fourth step for connecting the coal-cutting device for the exchange to the face of the flange for fixing from which the coal-cutting device to be exchanged is separated.
