The truck has cylindrical pivoting bolts (31) and a retaining pin (32) fastened at each side wall of a removable tilting container (1). The pivoting bolts are arranged at a common center line (33), which runs through a pivoting point of the container loaded with its nominal volume. A retainer (51) is formed at an end of each supporting arm (5) complementary to the pivoting bolts and opens upwards. A fixed stop perpendicular to the retainer touches the retaining pin at its rear side and a detachable detent (6) touches the retaining pin at its front side. An independent claim is also included for a method for emptying a tilting container in a lift truck.
