A honeycomb structure is provided to prevent the displacement of honeycomb segments in canning or using under vibration, and prevent defects such as crack due to thermal stress in using or regenerating. A honeycomb structure comprises a honeycomb segment joined body(10) and an outer circumference coating layer(4) covering an outer circumferential surface of the honeycomb segment joined body. The honeycomb segment joined body has a plurality of honeycomb segments(2) joined integrally at respective joining surfaces by a joining material layer. The honeycomb structure has a structure in which a plurality of cells(5) acting as fluid passageways are arranged in parallel to each other in a center axis direction. A side of a cross-sectional shape of each honeycomb segment, which is taken in a direction perpendicular to the center axis direction, has at least one curvature. |
