A TOPICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE EXTRACT, THE FRACTION AND THE ISOLATED COMPOUNDS FROM AERIAL PART OF PLATYCODON GRANDIFLORUM

A composition comprising an extract of an aerial part of Platycodon grandiflorum, a polyphenol fraction thereof or a compound isolated therefrom is provided to inhibit collagenase and active oxygen species, thereby being applied as a pharmaceutical and a cosmetic composition for preventing skin aging and improving wrinkle. A composition for preventing and treating wrinkles caused by skin aging comprises an extract of Platycodon grandiflorum, which is prepared by extracting an aerial part of the Platycodon grandiflorum with methanol, or luteolin-7-P-glucoside isolated therefrom as an effective ingredient. The composition is in the formulation of cream, gel, patch, sprayer, ointment, adhesive plaster, lotion, liniment, paste type or cataplasma.
