<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low molecular weight hyaluronic acid and a process for preparing the same, and to provide an enzyme composition which can be suitably used for the preparation of the low molecular weight hyaluronic acid. <P>SOLUTION: The low molecular weight hyaluronic acid is obtained by acting a hyaluronidase derived from a microorganism belonging to the genus Penicillium on a hyaluronan. A hyaluronidase-containing enzyme composition which comprises collecting a microorganism belonging to the genus Penicillium in a culture is suitably used as a hyaluronidase.
