<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform precise matching while suppressing the elongation of time necessary for computation processing in a mobile object monitoring device. <P>SOLUTION: The device comprises a mobile object detection means 10 for detecting a plurality of blocks Bij including an approaching another vehicle 200 on the basis of images P(n), P(n+1) consecutive in time series composing a video photographed by a camera 80; a correlation method computing means 40 for obtaining an optical flow OF through a correlation method. The computing means 40 has a compensation interpolating means 41 for applying subpixelization to local sections in which the differences from averaged brightness of the blocks Bij are larger than a prescribed threshold among the blocks Bij as templates T and the whole of the next image P(n+1) as a search range, and template matching is implemented at pixel intervals obtained by the subpixelization. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
