<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly precisely reproduce a packet interval on the transmission side by the reception side while suppressing the occurrence of overflow/underflow. <P>SOLUTION: A packet gap extractor 11 extracts a packet gap from a packet stream. A packet gap measurement 12 generates gap information by measuring the packet gap. A transmitter 13 for packet data with gap information transmits packet data with gap information. A packet gap insertion 22 inserts a packet gap, whose gap amount is adjusted on the basis of a gap adjustment value, between the packet data to be buffered. A buffer monitor 24 monitors a buffer use amount of a packet buffer 23 so as to reduce the packet gap when the buffer use amount exceeds a threshold for overflow detection, and to generate a gap adjustment value for increasing the packet gap when the buffer use amount is below a threshold for underflow detection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
