<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a user try optional functions by limiting a trial period and to smoothly shift to trial to use by a license during the trial period. <P>SOLUTION: A trial key or license key is made to be authenticated according to insertion of the trial key or the license key (S4, S22), when authentication of the trial key is passed, time to which a trial permission period is added is calculated as a trial limit from the current time to be stored in a NVRAM (S25), when the current time passes the trial limit (S12, S13), or authentication of the license key is passed, trial state information is made to indicate "tried" (S4), authentication of the license information is passed (S14), or when authentication of the trial key is passed (S15) and the trial state information does not indicate "tried"(S16), an optional routine is executed according to an instruction from an instruction input means, in the optional routines, when the trial state information does not indicate "tried", the trial period is displayed on an operation panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
