<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recirculate exhaust gas, without causing abnormal combustion of an engine, even when regenerating a filter by performing post-injection of fuel. <P>SOLUTION: An oxidation catalyst 24 and an exhaust particulate collecting filter 25 are arranged in a third exhaust passage 17 merged with a first exhaust passage 15 connected to first and second cylinders 11 and 12 and a second exhaust passage 16 connected to third and fourth cylinders 13 ad 14. When regenerating the filter, the post-injection of the fuel is performed on the third and fourth cylinders 13 and 14, and the exhaust gas is recirculated to an intake passage from the first and second cylinders 11 and 12 without performing the post-injection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
