<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting the flowability of slag in a furnace for storing pig iron, so as to remarkably reduce an amount of slag remaining in the furnace, to reduce an eroding amount of a lining refractory in the furnace for storing the pig iron, and to extend the life of the furnace for storing the pig iron, particularly in the furnace which stores the pig iron or Cr-containing molten iron smelted in a melting and reducing furnace and is provided with a heating device. <P>SOLUTION: When charging scrap iron into molten iron retained in the furnace which stores the pig iron therein and is provided with the heating means and thereby increasing the amount of the retained molten iron, this adjusting method includes charging an Si-containing iron alloy into the remaining slag in the furnace to decrease the concentration of low-grade oxides contained in the slag and improve the dischargeability of the slag from the furnace. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
