PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To repair the pixel unit of an electronic ink display device, which has a white spot defect or a dark spot defect, and to improve the display quality of the electronic ink display device. SOLUTION: The electronic ink display device is provided with a first substrate 100, a second substrate 500 and an electronic ink layer 600. The first substrate 100 has a plurality of pixel units at least one of which is repaired. The second substrate 500 is arranged on a position opposed to the first substrate 100 and has a transparent electrode 510. The electronic ink layer 600 is arranged between the first substrate 100 and the second substrate 500 and includes a plurality of charged particles 614 and the display state of the display device is determined in accordance with the distribution state of the charged particles 614.
