PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite of an organic polymer with a metal oxide considered to be useful for optical applications, etc., scarcely shifting chromaticity and having good light scattering properties, excellent heat and chemical resistances, mechanical properties, etc., and useful characteristics such as no warpage of a film when temperature is changed and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The composite of the organic polymer with the metal oxide comprises metal oxide particles dispersed in the organic polymer. The composite is characterized as follows. The particle diameter of the metal oxide is gradiently changed in the thickness direction of the composite and the volume fraction of the metal oxide is not substantially changed.
