PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver and a video signal processing method which can fully protect video data transferred through a bus, when a plurality of digital video devices are connected via the bus and the video data are transferred between the plurality of digital video devices via the bus. SOLUTION: The video signal processing method receives signals and certifies whether data transfer is allowed between the data storage devices connected via a data bus. If certification determines that the data transfer is allowed, encrypted signals are transmitted to the data storage device via the data bus and releases encryption from the received signals. Thus, the method allows to control to transfer data only to a given other end, to whom the transfer is allowed or to allow the receiving of the data from the given other end.
