PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road traffic information receiving device contributing to the prevention of traffic accidents by causing a driver to pass a speeding monitoring device in a refreshed mood, with confused mood being wiped out of the driver's mind by providing information in order for the driver to simply find the speeding monitoring device. SOLUTION: This road traffic information receiving device is equipped with a GPS module for calculating the position detection of an automobile and its speed, a position registration data memory with road traffic information registered therein corresponding to position, a CPU performing control, by receiving position data from the GPS module and obtaining road traffic information that corresponds to the present position from the data memory, and an informing part for aurally or visually informing the driver of the traffic information. In the data memory, mounting part data are stored, showing at what part of road (such as right side, left side, or upward section of the road) a speeding monitoring device is mounted, and information is provided on the mounting part of the speeding monitoring device, when the CPU finds out a speeding monitoring device.
