PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which can decide the turn directions and change directions as desired for the rotary means making setups in various sections. SOLUTION: This is a photographing device having an image photographing section which includes a photographing optical system and a photoelectric conversion element. It has an aperture diaphragm to regulate the light amount entering the photoelectric converter through the photographing optical system, a light amount setup means to regulate the light amount in the aperture diaphragm by using a rotary means, and a turn direction setup means to select the change direction of the regulated light amount for the turn direction of the light amount setup means.
