PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an NOx sensor excellent in sulfur poisoning characteristic, by an inventive material which makes up an electrode disposed on a solid electrolyte body. SOLUTION: The NOx sensor 100 comprises: the solid electrolyte body 110 having a U-shaped cross section in its axial direction; an outside electrode 120 formed on the outer surface of the solid electrolyte body 110; and an inside electrode 130 formed on the inner surface of the solid electrolyte body 110, wherein NOx is detected in accordance with a variation in impedance between both electrodes 120, 130.
