PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer instrument capable of obtaining a novel appearance, by changing a light emitting condition of display design in a dial, interlocked with rotational motion of a pointer, during an operation. SOLUTION: Characters 2a and scales a of the dial 2 are transmission-illuminated with a light from a light emitting diode 5, and a light of orange-colored emission light from a light emitting diode 6 is guided to a scale member 3 to transmission-illuminate the scale 3a, by a light guide rotor 4 fixed to a shaft 10a of a movement 10. Light emission color of the scale 3a of the dial 2 is thereby changed from a white color to an orange color, and vice versa, interlocked with the rotational motion of the pointer 9, during travel of an automobile, and a combination meter 1 is thereby provided to exhibit the novel appearance.
