PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump apparatus almost free from the occurrence of an entanglement phenomenon of cloth-like foreign material or lengthy foreign material. SOLUTION: A pump apparatus includes impellers 12b, a pump casing 13 surrounding the impellers 12b, and a suction casing 13 connected to the pump casing 13 and surrounding a motor for driving the impellers 12. The suction casing 13 is eccentrically formed such that fluid sucked from a direction orthogonal to a main axis 11 through the rotation of the impellers 12 turns around in the opposite direction to the rotating direction of impellers 12b within the suction casing 13.
