An apparatus for controlling a display unit using a vibration motor drive signal of a mobile terminal and its method are provided to simultaneously and individually control the lighting and illumination of plural display elements by using a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) signal having a pulse width varied according to a pre-set pattern as a vibration motor drive signal. A CPU(Central Processing Unit)(10) outputs a vibration motor drive signal for driving a vibration motor(30). An LED driving circuit unit(40) outputs a display control signal corresponding to the vibration motor drive signal. An LED(50) includes multiple display elements(LED1-LED4) according to a pre-set method, and blinks the display elements(LED1-LED4) according to the display control signal. The vibration motor drive signal is a PWM signal having a pulse width varied according to a pre-set pattern.
