A method for preparing flame resistant styrofoam containing loess is provided to obtain styrofoam favorable to the human body and showing a reduced ignition rate due to the use of loess, and having heat insulation and soundproofing effects. A method for preparing flame resistant styrofoam containing loess comprises the steps of: drying clay-like loess at 40-60 deg.C for 4-6 hours and crushing the dried loess; drying mud at 40-60 deg.C for 6-8 hours, crushing the dried mud, dipping the crushed mud into fresh water to remove salt, and further drying and crushing the mud; mixing 95-98 wt% of the loess uniformly with 2-5 wt% of mud; preliminarily foaming polystyrene foam, mixing 92-97 wt% of styrofoam particles uniformly with 3-8 wt% of the mud-containing loess, and molding the resultant mixture in a mold under an air pressure of 5-7 kg at 60-80 deg.C for 2-10 minutes; and cooling the molded product with cold water and demolding the product.
