<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder capable of fixing a holographic memory medium. <P>SOLUTION: In the recorder 1 for recording optical information in a plurality of recording areas 16a and 16b of the holographic memory medium 13, a recording part 3 records the optical information on a first recording area 16a by multiple recording; a determining part 7 determines whether the recording in the first recording area 16a has been completed; and a fixing part 4 fixes the optical information on the first recording area 16a, in determining that the recording in the first recording area 16a has been completed.
