<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing cartridge capable of continuously maintaining the excellent pressing state of a developer carrier against an image carrier, and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The developing cartridge 24 is provided with an energizing mechanism 121 for energizing a developing roller 39 in a direction where the developing roller 39 is pressed against a photoreceptor drum 31. Thus, every time the developing cartridge 24 is replaced to a new one, the energizing mechanism 121 also becomes new, so that the energizing mechanism 121 is prevented from being continuously used in such a state that the energizing force of the energizing mechanism 121 is lowered, and the excellent pressing state of the developing roller 39 against the photoreceptor drum 31 is continuously maintained.
