<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst film having sensitiveness for both of UV and visual beams of light, a semiconductive photo-electrode for water decomposition suitable for generating hydrogen and oxygen from water, provided with a structure of the photocatalyst film overlapping with a coloring matter sensitized type solar cell, and a water decomposition device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductive photo-electrode for water decomposition possesses a structure forming the coloring matter sensitized type solar cell provided, in order from a substrate, with the photocatalyst film having the structure of lamination of a first photocatalyst film comprising WO<SB>3</SB>or WO<SB>3</SB>doped with nitrogen and a second photocatalyst comprising TiO<SB>2</SB>, a first electric conductive film having translucency on one side in a thickness direction of a substrate having translucency, a second electric conductive film with successive lamination of the photocatalyst films described in any of claims 1-5 having translucency on the other side in the thickness direction of the substrate, a metal substrate, an electrolyte layer installed between the second electric conductive film and the metal substrate, and a semiconductive layer supported with the coloring matter, and is formed by installing a conductive film for electrically connecting the first electric conductive film with the second electric conductive film on the substrate.
