<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable equipment capable of predicting shortage of a battery accurately beforehand in spite of irregular use by a user. <P>SOLUTION: When a power source is switched on and some function is used, a battery residual quantity of a battery 13 and the kind of a function in use at present are acquired (S1, S2). Then, a history of the using state classified by the function and a power consumption classified by the function are acquired (S3), and the using state of the function in use is estimated based on the acquired history of the using state classified by the function and the power consumption classified by the function, and the power consumption is predicted from the estimated using state of the function (S4). When the predicted power consumption is larger than the battery residual quantity (Y in S5), the effect that the battery becomes short is reported (S6). In the case of being smaller (N in S5), a using schedule of a digital camera 1 is created from the using history classified by each using element and its using period (S7), and a time when the battery becomes short is predicted by using the created using schedule (S9 or S10). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
