PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device, capable of sufficiently absorbing a shock energy in the axial length direction of a steering shaft, by the steering shaft and by a rotor of an electric motor for steering assist coaxially disposed to a steering shaft rotating according to the operation of a steering member. SOLUTION: The steering assist is performed by the electric motor for steering assist coaxially disposed to the steering shaft rotating according to the operation of the steering member A. The electric motor 2 has the rotor 21 which can be moved in the axial length direction by the shock energy applied to the steering shaft, and is serration-fitted to the steering shaft. The steering shaft has a groove part 25 in the peripheral direction on a fitted surface to the rotor 21, and synthetic resin 26 is filled between the rotor 21 including the groove part 25 and the steering shaft.
