PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map information transfer system and an on-vehicle terminal apparatus capable of updating real time map information without taking a lot of time and effort, on the occasion of parking a vehicle in a parking lot. SOLUTION: A road side apparatus always transmits an inquiry signal, and when the on-vehicle terminal apparatus provided with a stored data update function informs the road side apparatus of having the update function, the roadside apparatus transmits facility information, map data, and version information, the road side apparatus transmits facility information and version information of map data. If the on-vehicle terminal apparatus judges that stored data are old on the basis of this version information, the terminal apparatus displays an update confirmation screen for the stored data in an HMI-system device, transmits a confirmation result by a user to the road side apparatus, updates the stored data by the update data of the facility information received from the road side apparatus and map data on the periphery of the parking lot, and then informs the user of the update result by the HMI-system device.
