PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-acid storage battery in which a cast strap to join electrode plates is disused, in which a highly reliable joined part is obtained, and in which weight of the joined part and man-hour in production can be reduced. SOLUTION: In the lead acid storage battery 1 in which an electrode group composed of a positive electrode plate 30 and a negative electrode plate 40 is housed in a plurality of cells formed inside an electrical accessory by a barrier rib 7, an inner lid 8 is arranged and installed upward an electrode plate group and downward a lid member 3, a positive electrode plate extended part 31 formed in the upper part of the positive electrode plate 30 and a negative electrode plate extended part 41 formed in the upper part of the negative electrode plate 40 housed in the neighboring cell are protruded upward through a through hole formed in the inner lid 8, and bent so as to be overlapped on the upper part of an extension part 9 formed upward the barrier rib 7, and directly joined by resistance welding. By this, the large sized cast strap to join the electrode plates can be disused, weight reduction of the lead acid storage battery 1 can be achieved and inspection/removal work of a cast burr becomes unnecessary.
