PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile body and a control method for it capable of easily controlling a stop position. SOLUTION: In this mobile body, a control part 15 performing movement control for following a target route to a target position is provided with a position estimation part 24 estimating the position of the mobile body moving along the target route and an area setting part 23 setting a set area C including the target position and divided into a division area A and a division area B by a division line D passing the target position. When the estimated position estimated by the position estimation part 24 makes a transition from a first division area to a second division area, it is determined that the mobile body reaches the target position and its movement is stopped.
