PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thickness measuring device, capable of easily transporting to the measurement site and easily and correctly measuring the thickness of a plat body. SOLUTION: The device body 2 comprises a base 4 on which a slit 4a is provided and capable of inserting the flat body to be measured; and a pair of displacement sensors 5 opposite to each other for measuring the plate thickness provided on the base 4. The thickness measuring device is constituted of the device body 2 and the control part for operating, based on the output of each displacement sensor for each thickness measurement displacement sensor 5, and displays the calculated results. The displacement sensor for each plate thickness measuring sensor 5 is freely slidable in a direction perpendicular to the plate body inserted to the slit 4a of the base 4, and is provided with contact pieces 52 energized so as to be in contact mutually with the slit 4a of the base 4. When the plate body is inserted into the slit 4a, the pair of contact pieces 52 of the displacement sensors 5 for plate thickness measurement are mutually slid in a direction of separating each other, and the sum of displacement amount is calculated and displayed as the thickness of the plate body.
