PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic having excellent effects on an improvement in optical characteristics or settlement of hair with slight deterioration of appearance and odor with time. SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic comprises the following ingredients (A) to (C) and has pH1-5 when applied to the hair: (A) a urea derivative represented by general formula (1) (wherein, at least one of R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>4</SP>represents a 1-10Cω-hydroxy straight-chain alkyl group; the balance represent each a hydrogen atom), (B) one or more kinds of free organic acids selected from monocarboxylic acids which may have a hydroxy group, dicarboxylic acids which may have a hydroxy group, acidic amino acids and aromatic carboxylic acids and (C) a hydrotrope selected from aromatic alcohols,≤10C aliphatic alcohols, polyalkylene glycols, alkylene carbonates, alkylpyrrolidones andγ-lactones.
