PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing fine particles in a sub-micrometer size or larger applicable for a continuous synthesis method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing fine particles includes: a dissolving step of dissolving a silicon compound expressed by general formula of RSi(OR')3(wherein each of R and R' represents an alkyl group) in a solvent essentially comprising water; a mixing step of continuously mixing the dissolved silicon compound with a basic catalyst; and a reaction step of allowing the mixture liquid mixed in the mixing step to react while flowing.
