PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mold clamping device constituted so as to be capable of using not only a mold, which is corrected so as to uniformize the mold clamping pressure in a mold mating surface caused by the warpage of a mold attaching plate due to mold clamping force, but also an uncorrected mold. SOLUTION: The mold clamping device of an injection molding machine is equipped with mold clamping force transmission members 7 and 8 for transmitting mold clamping force to the central parts of mold attaching plates 1 and 2 to which molds 5a and 5b are attached. Freely detachable contact members 10 are provided to the spaced-apart parts of the mold attaching plates 1 and 2 and the peripheral parts of the mold clamping force transmission members 7 and 8. If the contact members 10 are separated to from the spaced-apart parts to be brought to the non-contact state with the mold attaching plates 1 and 2 or the mold clamping force transmission members 7 and 8, the mold clamping force of the mold clamping force transmission members 7 and 8 is not transmitted to the mold attaching plates 1 and 2 but if the mold attaching plates 1 and 2 and the mold clamping force transmission members 7 and 8 are brought to a contact state, warpage is transmitted to the mold attaching plates 1 and 2. By this constitution, not only the mold, which is corrected so as to prevent the precision trouble of a molded product caused by the non-uniformity of the mold clamping pressure in the mold mating surface caused by the warpage of the mold attaching plates, but also the uncorrected mold can be used and desired molded product precision is obtained even by both molds.
