PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical plane in which the front end blade edge corner part of its blade plate is not required to be polished, and the corner edge of the front end blade edge is prevented inexpensively and surely from being damaged as a result of contacting a workpiece. SOLUTION: The plane composed of a plane stand 2 which is slid/moved on the workpiece 1, a plane body 4 which is engaged with an engagement hole 3 formed in the plane stand 2, and the blade plate 6 which is laid on the tip of the plate body 4 has a press part which presses blade plate 6 to the plate body 4. The plane body 4 is constituted so that the right and left edge parts 10 of the blade plate 6 are deflected/bent to be separated from the workpiece 1 by pressing the blade plate 6 to the plane body 4 by the press part.
