PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overflow device for a water tank, which can prevent an affection caused by the suction sound of an overflow pipe. SOLUTION: This overflow device for the water tank is characterized by comprising a water-storing portion 52 for storing water W in the water tank, an overflow pipe 54 which is vertically disposed in the water-storing portion 52 and whose lower end opening portion is opened on the bottom wall lower side of the water-storing portion 52 to flow the water W stored in the water-storing portion 52 from the upper end opening portion and drain the water W from the lower end opening portion, and a sound insulating cover 47 which is disposed in the water-storing portion 52 to close the whole area above the water portion of the overflow pipe 54.
