When a request is made for new channel allocation from a mobile communication terminal, an appropriate channel allocation is realized. A base station apparatus performs communication with a communication terminal by implementing an adaptive processing by using a plurality of antennas. The base station apparatus comprises an interference grasping section for grasping the degree of interference in an available channel to be used for the communication, a channel selecting section for selecting the available channel which is to be allocated according to the result grasped by the interference grasping section, and a channel allocation section for allocating the available channel selected by the channel selecting section to the mobile communication terminal when a request is made for new channel allocation from the mobile communication terminal.
