<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of further surely reducing fuel consumption when performing PM regenerating processing, by controlling pressure of exhaust gas in a filter. <P>SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine can control the pressure of the exhaust gas in the filter, and determines the pressure of the exhaust gas in the filter in the PM regenerating processing so as to further reduce a fuel quantity consumed when performing the PM regenerating processing on the basis of regenerating time of at least the PM regenerating processing, a fuel injection quantity per unit time to the internal combustion engine in the PM regenerating processing and a fuel supply quantity per unit time to the filter in the PM regenerating processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
