<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device capable of favorably keeping exhaust purifying catalyst heated not lower than active temperature while preventing the deterioration of fuel consumption through energy saving. <P>SOLUTION: When temperature of catalyst is lower than a predetermined active lower limit temperature, the temperature of catalyst is raised by a first temperature raising means for quickly and substantially raising the temperature of catalyst (S12). When the temperature of catalyst is higher than the predetermined active lower limit temperature and within a predetermined temperature range, the temperature of catalyst is raised by a second temperature raising means for raising the temperature smaller and more gently than by the first temperature raising means (S16). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
