<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for sharing the data of a server connected to a network while maintaining high security. <P>SOLUTION: A data management device 1 is arranged in a LAN inside a firewall, and a server 3 is arranged in a WAN outside the firewall. When a TCP connection request is made to the server 3 from the data management device 1 (S101), and TCP connection is established, index information is transmitted to the server 3 from the data management device 1 (S105). After that, the TCP connection is held. A client device 4 acquires the index information from the server 3 (S112), and requests file access to the server 3 based on the index information (S113).
