<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and an image display method for simplifying an album editing operation. <P>SOLUTION: When an image is moved or copied, the image is inserted into an inserting destination page 61. When an image picA already exists in the inserting destination page 61, position adjustment of each image is performed so that a part 62 where the image picC to be inserted and the image picA are overlapped becomes the smallest. For each image, ratio (overlap ratio) of area of the part to be overlapped with each area is calculated, when they are prescribed values or less, a new page is created and the image is inserted into the page.
