PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter for vehicle which can make a vehicle run, even if some power units for vehicle repeat abnormalities, relating a power converter for vehicle where power units for vehicle are connected in parallel. SOLUTION: In the power converter for vehicle, where three power units A, B and C for vehicle for supplying power to a load 7 for making the vehicle run are connected in parallel, each power unit A, B or C for vehicle is equipped with a power converter 1a, 1b or 1c for converting power for supplying power to the load 7 each, a contactor 4a, 4b or 4c which opens or closes the electrical path between the power converter 1a, 1b or 1c and the load 7, an output voltage detector 5a, 5b or 5c which detects the voltage outputted from the power converter, and a controller 10a, 10b or 10c which determines whether the power converter 1a, 1b or 1c is of output overvoltage, based on the detected value detected by the voltage detector 5a, 5b or 5c, and locks out the power unit for vehicle which has this power converter so as not to allow it restart, when it has determined that there is overvoltage.
