PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for magnetic levitation vehicle which enables good levitation control, even in case that only one is operating normally out of a plurality of gap detectors. SOLUTION: The controller detects the fault of a gap detector, and cuts off the gap detector with its fault detected, in a manner of electric circuits by any of switches 92 and 93, and performs levitation control by PID control based on the minimum output value of either a gap detected value outputted from a normal gap detector or a limit value LM, and specifies the gap detector where the fault has occurred, by switching the input of the gap detectors 51a and 51b in order by changeover setters 911 and 912.
