PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key unit in which a holding case is composed of a supporting member with a supporting shaft for turnably supporting a key head of a mechanical key, and a holding member fastened to the supporting member to hold the key head between the holding member and the supporting member, in which a torsion spring is provided between the key head and the holding member, and which reduces the number of man-hours for operation by enabling the holding member to be fastened to the supporting member by simple assembling work dispensing with a special tool and the skill of an operator. SOLUTION: A spring engaging position, in which the torsion spring 50 engaged with the key head 16 and kept in a natural state is engaged with the holding member 28, and a fastening position, in which the key head is turned by a predetermined amount to the side of making the torsion spring 50 exert a resilient force, are set around a supporting shaft. The supporting member 27 is provided with a positioning regulation part 27d which abuts on the holding member 28 in the fastening position.
