PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform chronograph 1/20-second time count display in a retrograde configuration by means of a form similar to real time, in a general electromagnetic conversion means for a timepiece having restricted driving speed. SOLUTION: During the time counting operation of the chronograph, a scale value pointed by a pointer is synchronized with a chronograph time counted value, only at one or more reference positions; and during the other time, the pointer is driven in a range of a performance of the electromagnetic conversion means, to thereby realize a display close to real time, without having to use a special electromagnetic conversion means. Pointer driving control is controlled, not by a counting means such as a counter, but rather by a time counting means for performing actual time counting, to thereby dispense with a special and complex drive control circuit.
