PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron capable of preventing its and improving wear resistance by enhancing the hardness of an ironing surface without impairing a slidability during ironing and performance of non-tackiness during starching and toning the ironing surface into respective colors. SOLUTION: The ironing surface 3a of a base 3 has surface treatment coating 100 applied evenly. The surface treatment film 100 comprises a fluoropolymer film 100c containing spherical ceramic fine particles 100a and irregular-shaped ceramic fine particles 100b distributed. Inside the surface treatment film 100, the spherical ceramic fine particles 100a are arranged on the ironing surface 3a to harden the ironing surface 3a, prevent it from being damaged, and improve the wear resistance. By the irregular-shaped ceramic fine particles 100b entering a gap between the spherical ceramic fine particles 100a, strength of fluoropolymer film 100c is reinforced and stability is improved.
